Beware the 32%
I might as well co-op that lame Florida Times-Union marketing ploy and use it for my gripe with Sen. Barak Obama. As much as I like the good Senator from Illinois (the best orator in the Democratic Party) I'm still waiting for the freshman lawmaker to make a stand on something,.....anything. Well, I'm still waiting. Via Daily Kos I see Mr. Obama caved to Mr.32% popularity:
"SIOUX CITY, Iowa (AP) — If President Bush vetoes an Iraq war spending bill as promised, Congress quickly will provide the money without the withdrawal timeline the White House objects to because no lawmaker "wants to play chicken with our troops," Sen. Barack Obama said Sunday."
What courage and backbone Senator. So the King of Iraq is going to veto a funding bill with timeline restrictions whereas Congress is acting in it's constitutional role of oversight and the Senator informs the world he'll get the fudning anyway. Nice way to adopt the Republican meme of "playing chickens with our troops" and let that frame exempt debate. Spine Senator. We need spine in our '08 slate of candidates.
